An Unpaid Political Announcement

Gentle voter,

Being a firm believer in the right of free speech, I am providing equal time on Yggdrasil to my good friend, Mr. Lynn Nelson, Esq., currently of Astatula, Florida, formerly of Exira, Iowa, to spout his own political views on tomorrow's United States election. And so, without further ado, take it away, Lynn!

I just want to record these thoughts and perspective before what I anticipate takes place. I see no other rationale for doing so except so that I, someone who considers himself an observant moderate, can look like a complete fool. Will I be seen as opting for the horse and buggy despite the strength of the draw to be propelled by raw intellect?

Am I wrong to think it is dangerous to do something I inherently feel is wrong to do? That is my bottom line. It is perception. To tell me to do something other than that is bullying. And who is the bully- er to be telling the bully-ee that is preposterous. It illustrates the arrogance which has become commonplace in the present environment. It is the perception the media showers us in. What truly pains me is the blatant disregard for which people whom I genuinely respect have for the process and the lack of their respect in return.

The media portrays the Obamas’ as the new divinity. It basks in the glory of their omnipotence. They manifest relevant connections with them to slavery and the plight of Black victimization while at the same time providing a perspective of elegance and prestige as close to the equivalent of the Camelot experience of the Kennedy’s that this generation has known. It is truly the best of all worlds. And it is all created for us from a façade willed upon us. It’s like a fictional book that writes itself. Questioning the wisdom is met with defense and falsification rather than clear pointed objective reasoning.

At this point if Obama loses it will be a civil disruption the potential of which has never been seen in this country, because it is more than political, it has become cultural. And cultural relevance
of the event should be a footnote if the basis of the campaign will be analyzed. To the best of my knowledge this has not been a factor brought up between the candidates.

I believe that is it because this election is more about party affiliation than it is about the economy, foreign relations, security, etc. I understand there are differences between the two
platforms and it is clear that the majority of people understand that. As such the only rationale is that of “change” from Republican leadership to Democratic leadership regardless of what
policy is. Policy will be molded into whatever pleases the majority of people. We've seen that throughout the campaign. It is why neither politician seems to address specific issues. Dems hide
behind overwhelming support virtually bullying their way into office. Reps are no better. Big money drives the wheels that drive the political machine and put at defense the unsuccessful current administration. It is obvious that the Democratic Party should win the election hands down. Yet, depending on what poll you look at, it's almost within the range of statistical error.

What is going to happen? No one knows. In a perfect world the Dems will come in and everything will be set right. The economy will flourish. Banks will pay back the 800 billion dollars afforded them in the bail out. The stock market will inspire confidence and soar to new highs. The jobless rate will evaporate. The world will embrace Americans as being their friends rather than their enemy. Superior policies of insight will prove all the skepticism of them wrong. Most importantly American troops will return to the US and out of Iraq and our soldiers will at last be safe.

That is what we should bank on? GO WITH THE FLOW. Surrender your independent skepticism because of divine party wisdom. Allow yourself to be brainwashed. Avoid the projected humiliation of voting for the wrong candidate can entail. Vote Democratic.

Lynn Nelson

It's obvious that Obama is going to be a great President! I am thankful that we have averted civil war.
