Stormy Weather

March roared in like a lion Saturday morning here in Europa with the arrival of the spring storm, Emma. I was awakened in Fürth by the crash of thunder and hurricane force winds as ice pelted the windows. We suffered no damage, but there were some people killed in other areas of Germany by trees falling on them or by accidents caused due to the weather.
Here's some scary video shot yesterday afternoon as a Lufthansa Airbus 320 from München was trying to land at Hamburg's airport. Kudos to the pilot who managed to give the plane some gas right as the left wing touched the runway. His second landing attempt was without incident. Why they would even attempt to land in such weather is beyond me. The announcer mentions that the gusts at the time were reaching 200 kmh, which is around 120 mph, not exactly flying weather. Those 131 passengers can consider themselves quite lucky.
