A Monster

Last Sunday, May 25, 2008, a monster EF-5 tornado devastated the towns of Parkersburg and New Hartford, Iowa, killing seven, injuring dozens, and destroying much of the towns and surrounding area. This was the largest tornado to be recorded in Iowa since the Jordan tornado of June 13, 1976. The National Weather Service's official report on the storm makes for interesting reading, but what really hits home is this raw video footage from some storm chasers.
