Politics Schmolitics
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:09:55) : I hate the democrats
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:10:11) : but hate is a powerful word
defensemaster1 (13:10:13) : Why?
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:10:21) : bullies
defensemaster1 (13:10:22) : You must have a lot of money, then.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:10:58) : I think the dems with money are slipping in to the loopholes
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:11:11) : political favors
defensemaster1 (13:11:27) : You need a better AIM photo, by the way. It is not in focus, and honestly, I can't tell if it is you or some old woman!
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:11:33) : no matter who gets in there is going ot be the same amount of money
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:12:07) : I didn't even know I had a photo
defensemaster1 (13:12:31) : The Democrats will at least have a foreign policy to earn the respect of other nations, instead of being viewed as a paraiah state.
defensemaster1 (13:12:59) : Yeah, you are in front of some copper-colored thing.
defensemaster1 (13:13:07) : With your hand on your hip, like it hurts.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:13:08) : Okay...I'm just watching the convention in bits and pieces. It is not a united party.
defensemaster1 (13:13:31) : No, but they need to come together, or we get Bush III, which would be quite bad.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:14:01) : no argument here.
defensemaster1 (13:14:05) : McCain always touts his POW experience, but all that tells me is that he is probably fucked in the head. How could you go through torture and imprisonment and not be?
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:16:11) : It seems obvious that either party sees what needs to be done, but they don't alter from their course. Dems are celebrity, Reps are defense.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:16:39) : McCain is a millionaire because he married into money
defensemaster1 (13:16:51) : Yeah, the Republicans have done a great job at making us all a lot safer.
defensemaster1 (13:17:11) : The man doesn't even know how many houses he owns.
defensemaster1 (13:17:13) : Out of touch!
defensemaster1 (13:17:22) : He's a dickwad.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:17:25) : Chris, things have not gone well.....
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:18:58) : again, there is an abundance of diversity in thought which attached itself to directing an initiative which should have been universal. Had it been universal, hell, he could be called Hitler.
defensemaster1 (13:19:23) : What the hell are you talking about?
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:19:48) : The strength of our country is based in people having a voice.
defensemaster1 (13:20:03) : Yeah, so why vote Republican? They are for oligarchy.
defensemaster1 (13:20:42) : I admit, the Dems aren't much better, but still. If you want to give everything to big business and the war industries, vote Republican.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:21:40) : Not everybody was on board with going after Iraq, but I seem to remember that the attack was at least partially in response to 9/11. Dems are going to Unionize everything.
defensemaster1 (13:22:02) : Iraq and 9/11? Uh, no, Lynn.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:22:15) : correct me.
defensemaster1 (13:22:41) : Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, unless you count Cheney and his Zionist cronies using 9/11 as an excuse to attack Iraq.
defensemaster1 (13:23:14) : And although unions have their downsides, someone needs to stand up for workers' interests in the globalized economy.
defensemaster1 (13:23:27) : They are the ones that always get the shaft.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:24:13) : wasn't it to establish a presenence in an area which was targeting a potential threat to the safety of the states? Is Obama the man to do that?
defensemaster1 (13:25:14) : Targeting Israel, maybe, and of course the oil supplies were a lucrative enticement. Iraq had been pretty much boxed in and isolated since the end of Gulf War I, and where are those darned WMDs? Oh, I forgot, there weren't any.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:26:37) : The sterngth of reporting on the course of events is that it has the benefit of proof.
defensemaster1 (13:26:48) : Obama is a reasonable man who understands that a foreign policy where the US goes it alone is risky and ends up biting you in the ass. Look at Georgia. There isn't anything we can do. The Russians called our bluff. Had we engaged the Russians earlier, and understood their concerns about granting Kosovo autonomy, it may not have happened. But we want to set up NATO right on their borders, which again, in my opinion, is a very risky and quite stupid move.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:27:55) : You are the military mind. You are right, but there was reasonable doubt that they were there.
defensemaster1 (13:28:01) : And Europe, which used to be firmly in the US's court, now is drawn more toward Moscow. We get out natural gas from there.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:28:09) : last part of that was abut the wmd
defensemaster1 (13:28:24) : If America tried to get NATO to so something against the Russians, it would, in my opinion, finally end the alliance.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:30:18) : you are the much wiser person here with the military political equation
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:30:31) : what I say is Chris, until the us considered drilling offshore here, oil prices were going higher and higher. Who are the victims? Iraq? Granted the wealth is centralized in the hands of the few,
defensemaster1 (13:30:43) : Well, I'd also take a look at the state of the economy now as compared to 8 years ago.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:31:01) : We in the US are supposed to take care of our own, and we don't
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:31:31) : I will not argue with that
defensemaster1 (13:31:40) : We have reached peak oil, meaning half of what will ever be available is used up, and the second half is harder and more expensive to get. Neither political party will touch this one, as reality has a tendency to turn off voters, who are looking for sunshine beamed into their assholes.
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:32:15) : thank you for the graphic depiction
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:32:54) : I just realized I have no more opinions
defensemaster1 (13:32:59) : You are seeing the start of what I call the Energy Wars, which will be fought in hot, warm and cold scenarios over the next 20 years for the rest of the main energy supplies in the Middle East and Central Asia.
defensemaster1 (13:33:30) : Well, Lynn, I hope I've got you thinking. Now go out and sign up to get Ralph Nader elected! haha
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:33:33) : I think you are right
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:34:47) : Chris, I wish I could make this a better world.
defensemaster1 (13:34:59) : You can, Lynn. Teach!
defensemaster1 (13:35:19) : (As long as you don't turn those youngsters into a bunch of McCain Youth!)
defensemaster1 (13:35:36) : If that's the case, stay at home and watch TV!
HAWKNESSMONSTER3 (13:35:53) : I think the way to doing it is through change.
defensemaster1 (13:36:08) : As opposed to stasis? I guess I agree.
defensemaster1 (13:36:22) : You are as specific as Obama!

ASK YOURSELF! How can mutual benefit be constructed on a foundation of dialogue intentionally constructed to manipulate partisanship? Does this promote integrity? Political Correctness?
What tools does that dialogue incorporate? Sarcasm? Cynicism? Spite? Deception? Who are we trying to help? Who are the speakers of the dialogue trying to help? Those who want to help themselves? What criteria do we use to select affiliation? What criteria do we use to flatter ourselves through association? A song and a dance?
Remind me, what were the principlals upon which this country was established? Wasn't it "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness ". I guess no where in there does that does it say Peace Love and Understanding, nor does it say Truth, Honor, and Dignity. Yet these are all principlals we hold on a personal level. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks so. The sentiment is one believed to be the essence of our being and the key to our solution, yet do we use those virtuous goals to inspire but not to aspire to? Are they not in themselves weapons of mass destruction? Is convention that which gives might to make right or is convention that which gives might to make ourselves appear right. What quarrelsome centrifuge accomplishes perhaps is best left to your own devices.
May GOD have mercy on us all,
Lynn Nelson
