An Update from the Storm Front

Gentle reader,

Stop the presses! This just came in from our Yggdrasil correspondent on the front lines of Fay in Florida...

Dateline Astatula, FL, (Yggdrasil Foreign Correspondent, Lynn Nelson Esq.)

Monday we saw this thing coming, so much so that Lake County (here the school district is the entire county) cancelled Classes for Tuesday and Wednesday. Governor Charlie Christ jumped the gun and declared the state a national disaster area.

The storm seemed to track diagonally across the lower 2/3's of Florida, South and East of Orlando. Since we are North and West of Orlando it was strange to be witnessing the flooding resulting from the storm. We watch TV here just like you, but there was a certain element of connection with what was going on, and I utilized all resources as my avail to interpret what was going on here as well as in Beijing, China's Olympics (exactly 12 hours different Eastern Standard Time) as a compliment to my report. I'm a Yggdrasil correspondent after all.

The fact is, the photos you have on your page were taken Monday evening around 4:30PM. We did not see another drop of rain till Wednesday afternoon. It hasn't stopped since. School was in session Thurday and cancelled Friday.

If you follow the storm track you will see it is moving through the Florida Panhandle now.

I feel that this whole storm is a complicated, hard to understand plot to detract attention away from the Olympic games in China, sway political sympathy to the first candidate who will actually take a stance on this beast we call mother nature and find out what the heck our government is going to do about it.

Reporting from Astatula, Florida, this is Lynn Nelson.
