Full Moon Festival - Gonar's Drink of the Month!

Greetings from Aquaburg, where summer is in full swing with kids in the pool, days at the lake either sailing or hanging out at the beach, a delicious iced latte every morning and lots of time for me to lounge around in my boxers. Like right now, for example. Summer also means it's movie season, and whether you want something to drink during your fourth screening of Pirates of the Caribbean, or maybe something that just came out like The Simpsons or Sicko, or maybe Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (I can't wait for the porno version - Hairy Peter and the Order of the Eunuchs), or maybe you just want something to take the edge off of Shrek III or, God forbid, Transformers. Yes, it hasn't been a great summer for movies, but there are some diamonds in the rough. I saw one just last night, in fact. My friend Chris K and I strolled down to the corner art-house multiplex and saw Rescue Dawn, the story of Dieter Dengler who was an American pilot (born in Germany) shot down over Laos in 1965. He was captured and held in a prison camp for six months, escaped and actually made it back home alive. He was the only American ever to do this. Chistian Bale plays Dengler. I highly recommend it.

And what did it inspire for this moon's Drink of the Month?

Long Island Iced Tea...At The Movies!

Here's the recipe, it's doubled as in Tea for Two, Two for Tea, etc.
In a flask or smallish bottle (I use an 8 oz Nalgene bottle, it works perfectly and is available at your local camping store or www.campmor.com, they also have a 12 oz Nalgene flask that looks pretty dandy) mix the following ingredients:

1 healthy shot (45+ ml) of gin
1 healthy shot of rum
1 healthy shot of tequila

1 healthy shot of triple-sec

1 healthy shot of vodka

Put the cap on it. Put it in the pocket of your cargo shorts. Put your cargo shorts on. Go to the theater and get two small Cokes, one for you and one for your friend, or one medium if you want to drink it all yourself and get bombed. Enter the movie of your choosing, and when the lights go down, distribute the mix accordingly and enjoy!

Enjoy August, and until next month, Hail Stingray!
