Postcards from the Bigmouth
Gentle reader, the summer vacation season is underway, and we here at Festung Europa are on the receiving end of joyful travelers everywhere. The following postcard was received from our roving reporter, Mr. Lynn Nelson, a.k.a. Bigmouth, in Uranium City this morning. It reads:
Dear Defensemaster,
We saw and conquered today. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Rock sculpture day for us. Mount Rushmore was pretty impressive. It has been completed a long time so the routine is pretty routine. Saw more Iowa t-shirts there than at Disney on any given day. Pretty busy tourist wise, but being accustomed to Disney for me it wasn't troubling....and nor was it for Cathy. Crazy Horse was quite the tour and quite the project. It's a tribute to the American Indian. Mount Rushmore would fit in the Hair of Crazy Horse, that is indicative of how big the Crazy Horse project is. They've got the face done and pretty much the rest of it laid out. They've been working on it since 1948. Of course only one guy was working on it till the 60s. Then his family of 10 probably added more contributions. But a lot more progress has been made since the 90's.
Peace!
Lynn and Cathy
