Daylight Raid over the Xarlon Metroplex

Winter-camouflaged Stingray Regime Fighter-Bomber over the Xarlon Metroplex

January 13, 2007, The Xarlon Metroplex (GBCN) Xarlon officials in the Metroplex were puzzled yesterday by the appearance of two Stingray regime fighter-bombers over the winter skies of the Metroplex. No destruction in the city was reported, but witnesses recalled seeing some parachutes falling from the sky. "This seems to be only a provocation, although we did later arrest a group of youth who seemed to have found a package dropped by one of the aircraft," stated Doug Jakovski, spokesperson for Xarlon Homeland Security. When asked what the package contained, officials declined to comment.

A message and photo received by the GBCN news bureau in Uranium City, Saskatchewan, indicated that the scattered remnants of the Stingray Regime conducted the raid from an unknown location. The message text reads: "In honor of the 115th birthday of the Reichsmarschall, Stingray Regime forces conducted the first raid on the Metroplex since the destruction of Fortress Europa." Fortress Europa was destroyed last October in a nuclear attack by the Xarlons which also killed the Defensemaster of the Stingray Regime. Since then, the forces of the Stingray regime had been disorganized and incapable of military action.

Jakovski noted that the Xarlon Homeland Security level has now been placed on amber, but he urged Metroplex residents to remain calm. "Keep shopping!" was the advice he gave when asked what residents could best do to support the fight against the Stingray Regime.
