A Fitting Gift for Today
Gentle reader,
Today is the third day of our Yggdrasil anniversary celebration. A lot of you were wondering a year ago just what the heck Yggdrasil is. In case you didn't or haven't figured it out, here's a link to the Wikipedia site for it. Yggdrasil is the axis mundi of the Nordic multiverse, connecting the nine worlds. It's name can be interpreted as the Steed of Odin, who "rode" the tree, hanging in it for nine nights (again, the sacred number) in a self-sacrificial vision quest, at the end of which the mystery of the runes was revealed to him.
In keeping with this spirit of Old Norse cosmology, I present to you today some great information on the subject, a collection of articles from the old Troth website concerning the reconstructionist pagan religion of Ásatrú. They are a great starting point for anyone interested in getting back to their Nordic or Germanic roots by reviving the old ways and customs in a modern fashion. Just download as before by clicking on the left link, unzip and enjoy!
