Bunker Week Special - A Tribute To Loyalty

You know, sometimes when the shit really does hit the fan, who can you depend upon? Who will be there with you, at your side, until the very bitter end? After everyone else has headed south, away from the frontlines, away from the danger, and you sit in your bunker, wretchedly alone, forsaken by all you thought were your friends, your allies...who will be there for you?

Here is a tribute to a quite a remarkable woman who, in the very best Tammy Wynette tradition, stood by her man. Instead of seeking shelter from the raging storm around her, she remained and faced the whirlwind. Instead of renouncing her lover years later in a slick tabloid, post-war exposé, she chose his fate as hers. Her life ended early at the age of 33 in a Berlin bunker, seated upon a couch next to her man, who, in a reciprocal act of loyalty the evening prior, had married her in a civil ceremony. She took poison, her man chose a bullet, but they left the stage together, loyal to the finish.
